![]() The shutter and aperture settings do change with the AF/Manual switch. If you are talking about the EC display in the viewfinder, it is replaced by a meter showing focus adjustment when you change the lens to manual. Third one-If you are talking about the LCD display-no. ![]() Second, you are only changing AF vs Manual focus by using the switch on the lens and not the in-camera rrect?Īlso, does the EC display on the camera also show the EC you set (say +1) go to zero when you switch the lens to "m" focus? In Live View there is overexposure bias towards the LCD screen brightness for a WYSIWUG effect and why same scene shot with the viewfinder may have a lower exposure than one shot using LiveViewįirst EC (exposure comp) only works in P, A, S, or M(meter only) exposure modes so I assume you are in one of those. LiveView feature that macthes the exposure with the brightness level of the rear LCD screen in bright light. D3200 manual doesn't address it but others do. This is somewhat normal and by design but usually more noticeable when photographing bright scenes. Just makes me wonder if there is some kind of problem with the camera. I this normal or anything I need to worry about? I really don't use Liveview, so it is not a big problem. It does seem as tho the Liveview exposure is closer to correct and the normal exposure is under exposed. 7 exposure increase in normal mode to equal Liveview exposure. But in P,S, and A settings, the LiveView is always the brightest. If you manually set exposure, then they are the same. My D3100 always selects a much brighter exposure when using Liveview. Is it normal for Liveview to select an entirely different exposure than taking picture thru the view finder.
